AM1 Matthew G.O. Rabe

Matthew Grant Owens Rabe was born on June 13, 1991, to his parents Connie F. Owens and Jeffrey D. Rabe, in Merced, California. Matthew was a resident of Merced for 30 years and passed away on May 3, 2022 in Merced, California.

Matthew was an active duty member of the United States Naval Service assigned to Naval Air Station Lemoore, California as an Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class. He also volunteered for a few organizations such as, Castle Veterans Organization (CVO) Atwater Ca, DAV Chapter 31 Atwater/Merced, California, Merced Sunrise Rotary, Field of Honor, Run for The Fallen and Mayor Matthew Serratto's Loughborough Drive Clean up Area.

Matthew had that loving smile that would cheer your day up. Those who served with Matthew said that Matthew bloomed into one of the most dedicated, genuine and kind-hearted sailors they had the pleasure of working with. He was truly one of the best human beings they had ever met.

Matthew was a man of character that you rarely encounter and the world is a little bit colder without him in it.
